Chase Bank Promotions FAQs

Not sure which Chase Bank promotion is right for you? Keep reading for answers to some common questions about Chase Bank bonuses.

How Can You Get a Chase Bank Bonus?

It depends on the specific bonus, but it’s not especially difficult to qualify for most Chase Bank bonuses.  Some other banks that require monthly direct deposits of $5,000 or more, or initial deposits upwards of $10,000. Chase Bank bonuses are attainable for everyday consumers — people who don’t have six-figure salaries or huge nest eggs.

That said, every Chase bonus has different qualification requirements. You might need to set up direct deposit within a certain time frame or make a minimum qualifying deposit, for example. Carefully read each listing above and the landing page when you click through to find out what’s required to get the bonus you want.

When Do You Get Your Chase Bank Bonus After Completing the Requirements?

Compared with other banks, Chase pays out bonuses fairly quickly after you complete the qualifying activities. Check the fine print on your preferred offer to be sure, but you can expect to receive your bonus within 15 business days after meeting the requirements.

How Many Chase Bank Bonuses Can You Get?

This is ultimately Chase’s call, and unfortunately, the bank isn’t crystal clear on how many bonuses are too many.

But you can generally only get one bonus per account within any two years, even if you close the account after receiving the bonus. You must keep your account open for a period of time after receiving the bonus — usually at least six months from the account opening date.

One thing is for sure. If you’re a new customer who has never had a Chase bank account, you’ll qualify for a cash bonus unless you don’t meet some other important criteria — like the age requirement to open a Chase College Checking account.

Chase has similar restrictions in place for new credit card sign-up bonuses too. So if you’re eager for some cash back to go with your new checking account, look for Chase credit cards you’ve never had before — maybe Chase Freedom Flex or Chase Freedom Unlimited.

Can You Avoid the Monthly Maintenance Fee When You Get a Chase Bank Bonus?

Most Chase account maintenance fees are relatively easy to waive with qualifying activities, such as maintaining a minimum balance in the account or in qualifying linked accounts. The only exception on this list is Chase Secure Banking, which has a $4.95 monthly maintenance fee that can’t be waived.

Final Word

The Chase Bank account promotions are relatively easy to qualify for. Welcome bonus deposits come quickly after completing the required activities, usually within three business weeks. And there are multiple options for personal checking customers, making it all the more likely you’ll find an account and offer that catch your eye.

What’s not to like? If you’re tired of the same-old, same-old banking routine, take advantage of one or more of these account offers and open a new chapter in your financial life.
